Betty Jean Matheny

Betty Jean Matheny (nee: Atha), of Bridgeton, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April2, 2024 at the age of 86.

Betty worked for Owens-Illinois in Bridgeton for 30 years. She loved cooking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She had a strong faith in God and could always be found reading bible scriptures.  She was born and raised in Clarksburg, West Virginia and later moved to Gainesville, Florida from 1986 to 2006, until settling in Bridgeton, NJ. She was married to her late husband Fred "Bud" Matheny for almost 50 loving years.

Loving wife of the late Fred "Bud" Matheny, Beloved mother of Cheryl Jones, Caring grandmother to Alyson Todd (Jared) and Ashley Jones, great grandmother of Jared & Devin Todd. Dear sister to Irvin "Wayne" Atha (Melba). Aunt of Brian Atha, Julie Brown, Robert Atha, Angela Anderson-Moore and Eric Anderson.  Predeceased by her sister Ruth Coleman.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 1:30 P.M. at the Greenwood Memorial Cemetery, Millville, NJ.
